Dear Colleague!
Research on an international and interdisciplinary level is becoming increasingly important, also in the academic field that is variously referred to as Subject Didactics, Subject Pedagogy, and Curriculum Studies (hereinafter: SD/SP/CS). An essential basis for the validity of international research in this field of subject didactics is the development of a common understanding of research, of “research designs”, and of formative dimensions of research. For this reason, we have conducted a Delphi study in German-speaking countries with the participation of 21 subject didactics (see Riegel & Rothgangel, 2022, “Designing Research in Subject Matter Didactics. Results and Open Questions of a Delphi Study”: https://doi.org/10.2478/ristal-2022-0106).
We would now like to extend these considerations presented there and build up a broader international basis in order to examine these basic questions of research in SD/SP/CS. Therefore, we are launching this Delphi survey to which we warmly invite you to contribute through your expertise. The aim of this questionnaire is to find out how the research community assesses the current state of affairs and the further development of research designs in SD/SP/CS.
It should take you no more than 15 – 20 minutes to complete this questionnaire. Your answers will be stored on a server at the University of Siegen, Germany, that meets current data protection requirements. Since we do ask only for scarce personal data and do not store any IP numbers, the discretion/ protection of your identity is guaranteed. Your participation is completely voluntary and you will not suffer any disadvantages if you do not take part in the survey.
As is usual for Delphi studies, we will come up with the results of this survey and evaluate them in a timely manner so to make them available to you for comment. If you are willing to be part of the second round of the Delphi, you have the opportunity to note down your mailing address at the end of the questionnaire. It will be saved separately from the rest of the data to ensure the anonymity of your answers.
The greater the participation in the study, the more will the results reflect the discussions in SD/SP/CS in the field in a representative way. We therefore thank you very much in advance for your contribution.
